FAQ

  • Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide with trackable services. Rates and delivery times are calculated at checkout.
  • How long will my order take?
In-stock items are typically dispatched within 3–5 business days. For custom or made-to-order garments, production timelines will be stated in the product description.
  • Where do you ship from?
As standard, all orders currently ship from the EU, though depending on your location we may be able to ship from Trinidad & Tobago if you contact us regarding your order at sanctuary@thecloth.com
  • Will I have to pay customs duties?
Receiving goods from within the EU you normally shouldn't incur any customs duties. Outside the EU, depending on your country’s import policies, customs fees or taxes may apply. These are the responsibility of the buyer.
  • Can I return my item?
Yes — returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery, provided items are unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with tags attached. To start a return, email sales@thecloth.com with your order number and reason for return. Buyers are responsible for return shipping using a tracked service, unless otherwise agreed in the event of a defect or error on our part.
  • Do you offer exchanges?
Because of the limited-edition nature of our work, we can’t always guarantee exchanges. If your desired item is unavailable, we’ll offer a refund or store credit.
  • How do I send back a return?
We ask customers to return items using a trackable service. See our Shipping & Returns page for full instructions.
  • Where are your products made?
All clothing is designed and made in our atelier in Belmont, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Our scarves are woven and hand-finished in Italy using cotton grown exclusively in the Caribbean.
  • How do I know which size to choose?
Our garments have a relaxed, gender-fluid fit. We are in the process of installing size charts on the site so please check your product page or email us for help.
  • What materials do you use?
We work exclusively with natural fibres, including certified West Indian Sea Island Cotton—the rarest and finest cotton in the world—alongside hand-spun and hand-woven Kala Cotton from India, and mechanically softened Baltic linen. Each material is chosen for its quality, heritage, and lower environmental impact.
  • Do you offer wholesale?
Yes. Contact Sophie Bufton, CEO at sanctuary@thecloth.com for our current line sheet and partnership details. We can invoice through our Caribbean or EU-registered company depending on your needs.
  • Can I request a custom order?
We take on a limited number of custom projects each season. Reach out with your idea and we’ll let you know what’s possible.
  • What’s special about West Indian Sea Island Cotton?
